Not only me

It was me that betrayed Him

I traded His life for 30 pieces of silver

It was me that spit upon Him

It was me that tore His beard out

It was me that held the whip

that ripped into His flesh

It was me that pushed the crown of thorns

that tore into His head

It was me that stood in the crowd

and yelled crucify Him

It was me that put the cross upon His back

to carry up the hill

It was me that tore His clothes

from His bleeding body

It was me that held the hammer

It was me that held the nails

It was me that pounded

the nails into His hands and feet

It was me that raised the cross

for all to see

It was me that fell at His feet in adoration

while He died

It was me that took the spear that pierced His side

It was me that He forgave

It was FOR me

It was all He could do to save a dying world

It was His LOVE that held Him to that cross

It was HIS love that caused Him to bear the shame

It was HIS love that raised Him from the dead

It was HIS love that saved me

Not only me, but you

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. ~ John 3:16

Jesus' love is the greatest thing I will ever know.  Yet, I don't know the expanse of His love.  I can't imagine loving someone enough that I would actually die in their place, yet He did just that!  His death gave me life!
