Cancer Sucks

Cancer.

Not talking the zodiac sign under which my birthday falls, I'm talking the scary disease, the life-altering, many times life ending, disease.

Over the last few months, I've been following the journey of Joey & Rory, on his blog: http://thislifeilive.com/.  Following Rory's postings; seeing his love for his wife, his love for his daughters and the journey his wife was on with the cancer she was diagnosed with in 2014.  It was easy to see that Joey meant the world to him.  He let the world see a glimpse into their lives.

Joey's journey on this earth ended yesterday and the moment she took her last breath her, she took her first breath in heaven. Joey leaves behind her 2-year-old daughter Indy, her stepdaughters, her husband and many family members. And now I know this song will mean much more to Rory and his family.

Cancer is all too frequent in life now.  I know too many people that have battled it or are currently battling it. A longtime family friend is battling lung cancer, another friend, her father is battling lung cancer, my grandfather lost his battle with prostate cancer, uncles, aunts, and many others are battling this disease.

Joey, rest in peace!  We know you are no longer in pain, you are no longer shedding tears.  You are watching over your family and singing praises with the angels to the Lord.
